This is one of the comics where the plot suddenly just appeared in my head one evening, and I spent an hour feverishly putting the script together before I could forget anything. I enjoyed drawing all those faeries, trolls, and other background creatures very much.
The song Joonatan sings is an altered version of a Finnish folksong (there’s at least one recorded version by the name ‘Liigua’). The lyrics are so rude that it was very easy to picture a petty little troubadour singing them.
