I haven’t drawn many illustrations of these two yet, because their designs are in a constant flux in my head still. I do feel like I hit the nail on the head with Zsiga (on the left), however: the sideburns, the unruly hair, the way he’s watching for Béla’s reaction all the time. Whereas Béla, well, he always has that look of concern on his face in my mind whenever I try to picture him.
Someone described them both as looking ‘brittle’, which has stayed with me all these years. Brittle. It suits them well.
