Night of the Butterflies: process

This one’s among my personal favourite illustrations about Theodius and Giendei, and overall out of all my illustrations. Couple of process shots below the finished images for those who are curious about how this one was made.

Inks. In my opinion there’s a specific sort of tenderness in brush pen strokes, even without any colour or shading, that has its own special mood.
Original pencil sketch. My sketches are rarely this clean or clear, but I had a pretty clear image of what I wanted in my head right from the start.
