The Bard’s Bargain: Through the Faery Mirror

Through the Faery Mirror (2021).
Lineart with the original pencil sketch.

This was my very first time drawing Joonatan, the bard from The Bard’s Bargain. As we can see, the faery king’s design changed after this somewhat – I decided while sketching the comic pages that horns, troll-like furry ears and a tufted tail gave his looks more personality that just your run-of-the-mill pointy ears, especially since my elves look almost identical.

This was a really fun illustration to work on. My favourite part was the little faery-shaped figures on the mirror’s frame. Fancy, gilded mirrors are so much fun to draw – you can really go nuts with the detailing.
